Most real-money game apps in Pakistan are not on Google Play, so people “sideload” them as an APK file. That means there is no Play Store screening — whatever checking happens, you do it yourself. This checklist is for exactly that moment.

The 8-point checklist

1. Verify the source. Take the file only from the operator’s own website or a link shown inside its official app. WhatsApp forwards, Telegram channels and “mirror” sites can carry modified files.

2. Read the domain carefully. Clone sites change one letter or use a different extension. If you arrived from our catalog, each page states exactly where its external link goes.

3. Check permissions before you tap Install. A game normally needs internet and storage. Stop if it asks to read SMS, make calls, access contacts, or run an “Accessibility” service — that is a route to reading OTPs and banking messages.

4. Check device compatibility. Listings often say “Android 5+”, but Android that old no longer receives security updates. Keep your Android updated and leave Google Play Protect switched on — it still scans sideloaded apps.

5. Enable “Install unknown apps” for your browser only, only while installing — then switch it back off. Leaving it on makes every future download riskier.

6. Never share an OTP, PIN or password. No genuine support agent asks for them. Use a password for the app that is different from your JazzCash or EasyPaisa PIN.

7. Test with a small amount first. If you decide to play, deposit the minimum, request a small withdrawal, and see whether and when it arrives before committing anything larger.

8. Understand the financial risk. No real-money game guarantees “earnings”; on average players lose. Use only money you can afford to lose, set a budget in advance, and do not play at all if you are under 18.

Permission red flags at a glance

Usually normal	Internet, network state, storage/media (for screenshots and updates), notifications.
Pause and think	Camera or location — only reasonable if a visible feature in the app clearly uses it.
Do not install	Read/send SMS, call log, contacts, Accessibility service, device administrator, “display over other apps”.

If you already installed a suspicious app

• Uninstall it immediately and run a Play Protect scan from Settings → Security.
• Change your wallet PIN and any password you typed into a suspicious screen.
• Check your JazzCash / EasyPaisa transaction history and report anything unfamiliar to your wallet provider.
